About Us

Wilkes Heritage Museum, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1968. The Wilkes Heritage Museum, Inc. is responsible for operating and maintaining the Old Wilkes Jail (c. 1859), Robert Cleveland Log Home (c. 1779), and the Wilkes Heritage Museum (former Wilkes County Courthouse, c. 1902).

Support Opportunities

Members of Wilkes Heritage Museum, Inc. contribute directly to its operating account to
help with expenses for the upkeep of the 1860 Old Jail, the 1790 Robert Cleveland House
and the 1902 Old Court House, now home of the museum.

Wilkes Heritage Museum, Inc. also offers pledge benefits specific for the WilkesHeritage Museum. These pledges will contribute to the cost of finishing exhibits in the various rooms. The Wilkes Heritage Museum also offers Veteran Honor Walk Bricks, honoring our servicemen and women. These bricks are placed on our front lawn in a special display.

Wilkes Heritage Museum, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization; therefore, membership donations are tax deductible.
